In Vision2, you can define the following relationships:

  • relationships between individuals

  • relationships between individuals and your organization

  • relationships between an individual and other organizations

Relationships can been managed when creating or editing an Individual profile. Scroll down to the Relationships section to manage individual relationships, relationships to us, and organization relationships.

Individual Relationships Tab

The Individual Relationships tab is used to show the relationship the individual profile has with other individual profiles in Vision2. This is useful for connecting spouses, parents and children, additional family members and associates.

Please note: Individual Relationships are separate from Households. Therefore, any additions, deletions, or changes to one will not affect the other. For example: If an individual is added as a spouse under the Individual Relationships tab does not automatically add the individual to the household. Also, removing someone from the household does not remove that individual from the individual relationships.

  • Click the Individual Relationships tab

  • Enter the name of the individual you want to connect to in the Search for Individuals text box and click the Search button

  • Click the Add to Relationships button for the person you want to connect to the individual profile you are creating

  • Using the Relationship drop-down list, select the appropriate relationship

Associate: This is used to indicate that the individual has a non-familial relationship with the individual profile you are creating

Marriage: This is used to indicate that the individual is the spouse of the individual profile you are creating

Parent: This is to indicate that the individual is the parent of the individual profile you are creating

Child: This is used to indicate that the individual is the child of the individual profile you are creating

Family: This is used to indicate that the individual is a family member other than parent or child

  • Start Date: enter the date this relationship started

  • End Date: enter the date this relationship ended. Leave this field blank if the relationship is still valid

  • Description: enter additional information as needed

  • Click the Save & I'm Done button when you are finished adding relationships for this profile

Relationship to Us Tab

The Relationship to Us tab is where the individual’s church membership can be tracked in Vision2. Please note: While this option is available, if you use a Church Management System (ChMS), it is best to track membership in the ChMS.

  • On the Relationship to Us tab, click the Add Membership+ button

  • Using the drop-down list, select the appropriate membership category

  • Start Date: Enter the date the membership category started

  • End Date: Enter the date the membership category ended. Leave this field blank if the membership category is still active

  • Click the Save & I'm Done button when you are finished adding relationships for this profile

Organization Relationships Tab

The Organization Relationships tab is used to track connections between the individual and organizations listed in your admin portal. This can be used to track employees and volunteers at your church as well as other organizations. Please note: While this option is available, if your church uses a Church Management System (ChMS), it is best to track these types of relationships in the ChMS.
