Recurring gift end of month dates create an interesting challenge. The 30th in a month with 30 days is actually end of month, so in months with 31 days, it should process on the 31st. In February, it should process on the 28th (or on the 29th every fourth year).

Vision2 evaluates each recurring gift start date or updated date when a donor changes it in the online edit gift form or when a user edits it in the admin portal.

If the revised date or date at the time the gift is saved in the donor facing portal is the last day of the month, the gift is treated as the last day of the month.

In the administrative portal there is another option which allows the end user to specifically indicate end of month.

When you want the gift to process at the end of the month without a doubt be sure to select end of month.

Here we have a gift that starts on February 29th and is marked end of month. As a result, the gift will process on the 30th and 31st for the next several months.

If we revise that same gift and set it to process on the 28th, which is not the end of February 2020, it will process on the 28th of every month.

The gift schedule will now run on the 28th of every month.

If we revise the gift again to run on the 30th starting in March, it will run on the 30th of every month, except February, when it will run on the 29th (the last possible day closest to 30 in that month).
