How do I ask for specific donation amounts?

Use an impact ask ladder to request fixed dollar amounts for specific support

You can create a specialized ask ladder to show your donor the impact of their donation amount. This is especially helpful where a specific donation amount allows your organization to provide a unit of support. For example: each $20.00 donation will purchase a box of medical supplies for your upcoming medical mission trip.

Create an Impact Ask ladder

  • Login to the V2 admin portal and navigate to: Marketing > Ask Ladders > (+) (field descriptions below image)

  • In the Name text box, provide a name that describes the functionality of the ask ladder. For example: Med Supplies Impact Ask Ladder

  • In the Description text box, provide a description of the behavior, or copy/paste the name of the ask ladder

  • Click the Use Impact or Premium by Amount check box

  • Click the Add an Amount button

  • In the Order number text box, type the number to represent the position this ask will have in this specific ladder

  • In the Amount text box, type the dollar amount for this ask

  • Leave the Amount is Editable check box unselected, as this impact ask ladder is requesting specific dollar amounts to provide units of support

  • In the Impact Statement section, click the Change Photo button

  • Search for and select an image

If the image has not been uploaded to your library

  • Click the Upload tab

  • Search for and select the image you need

  • Click the Save button

If the image has been uploaded to your library

  • On the Library tab, click the image you wish to use and then click the Use Selected Photo button

  • In the Impact Description text box, enter the impact this specific donation amount will have. For example: This donation will purchase one medical supply kit for our upcoming medical mission trip to Belize.

  • Continue to add impact asks with images and statements as needed for this ladder

  • Select the Default Ask radio button to pre-select one of the asks in the list that the donor will see
    ​

  • Click Save & I’m Done when finished

Apply an Impact Ask Ladder to a Giving Source

  • Login to the V2 admin portal and navigate to: Marketing > Web Sources> Giving Sources

  • Click the pencil to edit the appropriate giving source

  • Under the Marketing section, in the Default Ask Ladder drop-down list, select the impact ask ladder you just created

  • Click Save & I’m Done

Donor Experience

  • Donor clicks your link to give online, taking them to your promotion list

  • Donor clicks the Give Now button for the impact designation and sees specific donation amounts with images and descriptions:

  • Donor selects the amount to give and either clicks the Add Additional Gift button or the Continue to Checkout button to complete their donation
